Hello Android fragmentation. 

This is the Vizio 8” Tablet. It runs Android, but it doesn’t run Honeycomb, at least not exactly. Instead Vizio has built its own UI, ‘VIA Plus’. It does run Android apps, apparently, but what version of the OS a developer should target is something of a mystery. Good luck getting a consistent experience on this thing. Also, to hit the $329 price point it has just 2 gig of user-accessible storage, which isn’t enough for some games by themselves. 

In fact, Vizio is positioning this as less of an Android tablet per se than a companion to its line of HDTVs, with a special remote control app. Rather reminiscent of what happened to Linux, and not at all what Google had in mind with the Android project…
